About the people centered justice conference 2024
In recent years, justice systems have seen a concerning decline, especially in the Global South, where billions of people continue to lack meaningful access to justice. This growing "justice gap," marked by overstretched and under-resourced justice systems, has left many without the legal remedies they need. Everyday justice issues—such as land use, environmental harm, debt, family disputes, and access to basic services—disproportionately affect women and those facing multiple vulnerabilities, deepening social, health, and economic inequalities.
The People-Centred Justice Conference will confront these challenges, serving as a platform to explore how justice systems can better respond to the critical needs of individuals across the Asia-Pacific region. Participants will delve into evidence-based, people-centred solutions that address the demand-supply gap in justice services, focusing on those most at risk of being left behind.
